I'm not quite an expert on tournaments but I have duelled for 4 years and have great experience in the cards. I think though even if their fake as long as the text and name is correct or if the card is very well known to tournament duelists.
*It depends completely on the person running the tournament. If your hobby shop owner allows that, then more power to you. However, if your dueling in official UDE tournament that would be considered illegal, and would get you banned for up to a few years from official tournaments. -Dragonheart91*
My cousin told me to not use any of my cards because they were fake and he don't know anything and he;s only played for one year and I've been playing for 3 years and i told him i personally think you could use fake cads there still cards right!
*in local tournaments it depends on who's running it, BUT if it's an official konami tournament then you might aswell keep on walking cause just to test this i entered an official tournament and they were turned down, even the ones they new were real cards so even fake editions are banned.
No they dont use their real name on the cards
Yes, but not in tournaments. Even in casual battles, Your opponent has the right to get you to take all fake cards out of your deck.
In any official Konami sponsored Duel or tournament, no. If it is a casual Duel, make sure that your opponent agrees on the effects and statistics of the card before you use it. Also, to maintain fairness if desired, use protective card slots so that you will not be able to discern the fake card from the real cards.
No one will let u use fake cards and you waste money.
Egyptian god cards and blue eyes white dragon are not allowed at duel academy in yugioh gx, because students could win easliy by using powerful cards. It is against the rules at duel academy, because the teachers can tell that those powerful cards can be use for cheating. if the student use a blue eyes white dragon or obelisk the tormentor on the duel field, it is very likely that the student will be expelled from duel academy.

Duel Master cards are a turn based card game created by Wizards of the Coast in which one player plays his set of cards against another player, in hopes of winning a duel.
Players may use the God cards in casual Duels (however, it would be wise if effects were agreed upon prior to the Duel if you are using the tournament-illegal versions). You may NOTuse these cards in officially sponsored Duels or tournaments (tournament-legal versions may be used).
