If a room is extremely well insulated and the wattage of the bulb is greater that the wattage heat loss then, yes a light bulb can heat up a room. The time that it takes to heat up a room would be considerable.

How do you find the amount of heat on a light bulb?

by going in a dark room and see if it have lot of heat to light up the room

Does a 60 watt light bulb evaporate water faster than the sun?

Faster than ambient left alone? If compare to open air then it is faster with extra heat source of 100 Watt. If it had twice the bulb then it is faster than 1 bulb. Light bulb is the energy source and evaporation require energy. Provide extra energy help speed up evaporation.

Does an incandescent bulb produce more heat than a fluorescent bulb?

Yes, because incandescent bulbs uses a resistive element which glows up to give out light. The force which opposes the flow of current through the filament wire causes more heat to be produced by the bulb.In the fluorescent bulb, noble gases are used and because these do not react to any force, less heat is produced. Though some amount of heat is produced by the end electrodes of the bulb.ANSWER: An incandescent bulb uses electricity to light the filament. Heat is the result. In a fluorescent light, argon and mercury are excited by an electrical charge and the result is light. The light is the same as a black light and if the bulb was not coated with phosphorus, white light would not be visible.

How does the incandescent light bulb work?

Current passes through the filament of the bulb causing it to heat up. When it heats up, it becomes so hot it incandesces. That means it radiates light. When the filament is white hot, it radiates light across much of the visible spectrum. Incandescent lights also waste a lot of energy which comes out as heat.

Why does a circular fluorescent light bulb not light up fully?

You have a failing bulb or ballast.

Why are high resistance materials useful in light bulbs?

The filament in a light bulb causes the light bulb to heat up and give off life.

Why do light bulbs light up in the microwave?

the heat caused by the waves in the microwave heat the light bulb enough that it causes the fillament to light. There is a chance that the light bulb could explode though so don't try this at home.

Why does light heat up a room?

it depends what type of bulb it is for example if it is an energy efficient bulb it uses about 80% of the electrical current into light and 20% heat but if it is a filiment bulb it uses only 30% of the electricity into light the other 70% is turned into heat so they are better heaters than light sources filliment bulbs can be found in old reading lamps on electric radiators filliment bulbs are being reduced because they aren't energy efficient hope you like the awnser :)

How can conduction be helpful?

Conduction can cause a spark which can light a light bulb. Conduction can be used to heat up metals.

What color should a room be painted to save energy?

Try light color that let in light so that your bulb wont have to produce as much energy to light up a room.

What is 60w light bulb?

a normal incandescent 60 watt light bulb uses 60 watts of electricity to produce 20 watts worth of light, and 40 watts worth of heat. It is more of a heat bulb than a light bulb. it is great if you can capitalise on the free heat, but if it is not cold in your house, turn it off. is there a better bulb? no. why are they ideal? cheap (as low as 10 cents for the el cheapos), never change shape/design/size/compatability, make pleasant light I could go on for an hour, but the best bulb is the cheapest.

Why does a light bulb light in a closed circuit?

A bulb does not light up if there is no voltage available across the bulb, or if the bulb is burned out.
