Probably, but you would need the cooperation of the other person to do so. Might not be a bad idea if you are the parent depending on child support. Just go with term insurance for the period of time when the children are minors.

Can you invest in life insurance on someone else's life?

Yes, but you have to have Insurable Interest in the person, and usually (depending on their age) they have to approve or sign something allowing you to purchase the insurance on them. Like, I'm divorced but I could have a life insurance policy on my ex-Husband, because I have insurable interest in him if something were to happen, because we have a son together. Usually the insurance company will make them sign something and of course they have to be insurable to insure them and depending on the amount of insurance could have to pass an exam. Just because you want Life Insurance doesn't always mean you will qualify for it. Yet, another reason to get it when your young and healthy! Hope That Helps!

Children are almost Never the reason husbands and wives get divorced. They usually get divorced because they only had a physical attraction to one another, and this physical attraction did not last. Many married couples do not get a divorce, so it will not hurt the children's feelings. When a couple gets a divorce, it is almost always because they weren't really ready for the lifetime responsibilities and commitment of marriage.
