Im guessing that the parrot fish would be able to outrun some of its predators but not all of them it all depends on the speed of the predator
Sharks box jellyfish
Parrot fish sleep in slimy bubbles. The slimy bubble hides the fish's scent. This protects the parrot fish from nighttime predators like moray eels, which hunt by their sense of smell.
well a parrot is a bird and a parrot fish is a fish
When young and small, the parrot fish is hunted by other larger fish. As the parrot fish grows it gains bigger and meaner predators: the black tip reef shark, the white tip reef shark, large carnivorous fish, octopuses, other sharks that may be wondering around by the reefs, carpet sharks, large eels, ect… Even when in captivity, the parrot fish will still be hunted by natural predators, so you have to make sure you don't house a predator of your parrot fish in with you parrot fish.
What about Blood Parrot Fish?
The parrot fish sleeps in a mucus bag. This fish lives in the tropical coral reefs located in tropical oceans that are mainly around the equator. The parrot fish forms this mucus bag from a special gland in it body basically named the mucus gland. This bag that the parrot fish forms around its body is sticky and clear. I takes about a half hour to form and for the fish to break free in the morning. The mucus bag helps protect the fish during his sleep from predators and releases a sort of fragrance if you will to frighten predators away.
