Probably wondering what sort of response your going to get from this question. lol!

Assuming you know and are actually using "paranoid" in its correct medical meaning some causes might be:

  • There have been people in your past that regularly hurt or teased you and you have developed expectations that others will too (even if its no longer true).
  • You have used illegal drugs likely to produce such symptoms (e.g. amphetamines).
  • You have an underlying mental illness that sometimes produces these symptoms (e.g. schizophrenia)
  • etc.

If you really are paranoid see a mental health professional.

Yes, any person can become paranoid for no apparent reason.

Paranoia is a personality disorder which usually presents as unfounded fear of persecution; the sufferer might feel they're being watched or monitored in some other way, very possibly by those intending harm tp them. Some fear being spied upon electronically - bugged.

It can be a devastating condition and prove disabling to the sufferer and frightening to their family and friends. Paranoia can also lead sufferers to take action against their perceived enemies, or to take extreme evasive action, and like other reactions to the illness, this can result in unfortunate consequences.

Paranoia doesn't necessarily involve fear of persecution: it can also appear in the form of delusions of grandeur, so to speak, where a person might believe themselves to be the US President, or a top spy, or the illegitimate offspring of royalty or of a famous person, and so on. Such delusions can also lead to tragic or criminal consequences.

While the majority of those suffering from paranoia in its various forms and stages are relatively harmless, if you believe yourself - or someone you know - to be developing symptoms of paranoia it is essential to seek, or to persuade the sufferer to seek, medical assistance immediately.

Please discuss your concerns with a doctor, who can refer you if necessary to a medical professional specializing in this field.
