I don;t think red pepper causes an Asthma attack. An asthma attack is caused by something constricting the bronchi in the lungs. Red pepper can cause an allergic reaction.

Yes, without question the symptoms of asthma change with the seasons. The reason: because asthma is, in part, an inflammatory condition, there are a huge number of environmental factors (e.g., being around cigarette smoke) that can exacerbate asthma. Since environmental factors change as the seasons change, it makes sense that asthma symptoms would too. Things that typically cause seasonal allergies (e.g., pollen) can exacerbate asthma. The relative humidity can also contribute to asthma symptoms, and since, depending on where you live, the humidity changes with the season, asthma can thus change with the seasons.

Studies have conclusively shown that the same environmental triggers that cause an allergic reaction can also be responsible for an asthma attack. Symptoms of the two different conditions can be surprisingly similar, but it is the coinciding of asthma attacks with common allergy triggers such as hay fever season that alert a patient and his or her physician that asthma is present along with the allergic responses a person is experiencing.Symptoms of Allergy-Induced AsthmaSneezingCongestion of the nasal passagesWheezing, a sense of "heaviness" in the chest and difficulty breathingChronic, non-productive coughItchy sensation on the roof of the mouth or throatAn allergic reaction occurs when the body encounters a substance it regards as a threat. These may be entirely harmless substances such as pollen, household chemicals, dust mites, pet dander, certain foods, or mold spores that cause the body to engage in full attack mode by producing antibodies to fight the perceived threat. In an asthma response, the lungs experience irritation and begin to fill with fluid and the muscles surrounding the bronchial airway constrict, reducing air flow. This is the source of the persistent coughing, feeling of weight on the chest and wheezing. While there is no cure for asthma, treating the allergies that cause asthma as a secondary reaction can help to alleviate or even nullify asthma symptoms. Regular allergy shots can assist in reducing the body's response to perceived attack by foreign substances. Over time, the immune system builds up a tolerance for the substance and no longer reacts when encountering it. Certain prescription medications for allergies suppress immune system response, which also may work to reduce asthma symptoms. These treatments may work to greatly reduce both asthma and allergic reactions, but avoiding the triggers that cause the body to react in the first place is still the single best weapon in fighting allergy-induced asthma.
