It is not true to say the platypus can be up to 45 cm "at most". A male platypus ranges from 50-60 cm in length, whilst the female is smaller, averaging 40-50 cm in length. Platypuses in north Queensland tend to be smaller than their southern counterparts.
There are over 50 known species of flying fish belonging to the Family of Exocoetidae. Flying Fish grows to the size of 45 centimetres (18 inches), but most species measure around 30 centimetres. They can glide about 50 metres (160 feet).
