Yes, in a manner of speaking. If your probation conditions are such that you cannot have contact with a specific person, or a group of people, having any contact will be a probation violation. For instance: those with sex crime convictions will invariably have the condition prohibiting contact with minors. In these cases, if you have contact with a minor, you will be serving the rest of your sentence behind bars. Simple rule of thumb, "Do the crime, do the time."

Just lay down and do what you have to do to get off paper.

If the courts know you violated your probation will they alert your probation officer?

It is usually the other way round as the Probation Office is supposed to keep an eye on you as you, at regular times, report to him. If you violated your probation it would be the Probation Officer who would notify the courts.

A juvenile parole officer is someone with a BS whom is assigned to juveniles out of prison and help them get back into normal life. How do you find out when im off probation?

The papers you received at the time you were placed on probation will contain that information. If you can't find them, contact your probation officer or the court itself for that information. ------------------------- Keep a calendar with the date in your dwelling. When the date reaches the day you marked, then and only then are you off probation.

What happens if you are on misdemeanor probation and travel outside the country but then come back?

This will depend on several things. First, did you get permission from your probation officer? If so, provided you adhered to the terms of the permission to travel outside the country, you are fine. If not, keep reading. Second, were you caught traveling outside the country while on probation? If not, you got lucky and will probably not have anything happen to you, unless someone finds out about it and notifies your probation officer. If you didn't have permission to travel outside the country while on probation and you get caught, you could be punished by anything from an extension of your probation to having your probation revoked and being put in jail for the original conviction.

Can only the arresting county charge you with probation violation?

If you are arrested for a crime in a different county, the county you're arrested in will run your record and discover that you are on probation. There's a very high possibility they will contact your probation officer, who will then recommend you be charged with probation violation. It is, also, most likely that a condition of your probation is to contact your PO when you're contacted by law enforcement. Not doing so is a violation of probation. The most likely result is that you'll be charged for the new crime in the new county, and charged for the probation violation in the county in which your probation office is located. Keep in mind that the probation office holds jurisdiction over the entire state; not just the one county.

Can someone on methadone treatment be denied their medication if on probation?

This may depend upon the nature of the underlying offense for which the person was put on probation. However, most standard terms of probation require that the probationer only take drugs with a valid physician prescription. If a physician prescribes methadone - whether for chronic pain relief or for heroin withdrawal - it should be fine. The best course of action would be to obtain the prescription and provide a copy of it to the assigned probation officer. It's also okay to just ask the probation officer outright.
