No it is not a light source but a light trick
a light source produces light
no.
Well a rainbow is just a refraction of the sun's light caused by water molecules in the air. Yo do not need rain to see a rainbow-like object, but you definitely need the sun.
It is the spectrum of visible light, which has the colors of the rainbow.
it is when it is cloudy and warm when it starts raining you can see it but the sun has to be out shining behing the rainbow a rainbow is like rain in front of you a rainbow is made by rain and sunshine and clouds
Light rays from the sun enter suspended raindrops in the sky after a shower. The light enters the droplets and total internal reflection occurs, and the rays are reflected outward toward the sun again. In the second ray, light is dispersed into the 7 colours that are seen as the rainbow. Thus, if the sun were behind us, we would see the effect. If the sun were in front of us, the light rays would be reflected away from us, rendering the rainbow invisible to the viewer.
Light is refracted -- bent -- both as it enters the droplets and as it leaves. The amount of refraction is dependent on the wavelength -- the color -- of the light. IF there are droplets of just the right size and IF the sun is positioned such that its light is reflected back from the droplets, an observor between the sun and the droplets will see a rainbow.
rainbow forms when a person stands infront of a waterfall with sun behind him\her.As in dark there is no light for rainbow to form.
When the sun is out and it is raining a rainbow occurs.
No, a rainbow does not produce light, it is an effect of light being bent (refracted). The source of the light seen in a rainbow is the Sun.

RAINBOW usually occurs because of the refletion of the light of the sun.
This is what i found out when i was doing some homework on rainbows: When you are looking at a rainbow, the sun is behind you and the rain will be in front of you. If the sun was in front of you then the rainbow would be behind (if it was raining). A rainbow looks like its asemicircle because when the light goes throught the water it bends twice, which means the light is going at different angles when it shines through the raindrops. A rainbow is actually circular because when the raindrop bends the light, the light leaves at an angle causing the light to move into a circle. The faintness of the rainbow relies on where the sun is. If the sun is low in the sky, the rainbow is faint.
water and sun light
Because the tiny particles of water in the air reflect the sunlight. The light splits and certain colours are reflected.
they prism glints off from the sun causing a spectaculer rainbow
white light contains all of the colors of the rainbow, so if all of the rainbow's colors shown collectively at one point, the light would be white light (like the sun's light).
it is the landform that has a rainbow and it is reflected to the sun's light and cloud's brisky fog
