Can A Christian And A Non Christian Make A Relationship Work?
  • Yes, as long as the respect is mutual and genuine. I have known many successful relationships between Christians and members of non-Christian religions, or between Christians and atheists.
  • Yes, but if you are a Christian and not married to this person yet, then I suggest not marrying them. Salvation is everything. If you are unequally yoked then your partner may sway you from being a Christian. It's not worth taking the chance unfortunately. This is my opinion.
  • I am a Christian and my husband is an Agnostic and we respect each other's belief system and have been married 36 years without any debate over the subject and I am still a good Christian. Yes, it can work with a non Christian and a Christian. Just perhaps by the way a Christian acts by giving, loving and helping others in need with their strong faith some it might well rub off on the person without a religious belief.
  • I am sorry, but I don't believe so. God wants us to be equally yolked. Which means, equally matched. I'm not saying you must be exactly the same, and even have all the same interests, but all your morals, and beliefs would contradict everything you do in that relationship. The relationship may work for a while, but believe me, my mom had three kids and then became a Christian. Then, got married to someone who wasn't. It kind of worked while they were dating, but when they got married, everything went south. Relationships weren't supposed to be that way. In everything you do (as a Christian or follower of Christ) you must do all things in God's name and glory. Not for yourself.
  • No, a Christian and a non-Christian cannot make a relationship work. A true Christian would know that The Bible says that you are not supposed to be with "un-believers." Unless God tells you to be with that person so you can convert them, you should not even pursue that option. Even if you did try this combination, eventually your differences will be realized and it could lead to separation, which means if you got married again, you would be committing adultery. So, I would pray for God's guidance and allow HIM to pick your mate. You can never go wrong that way!

Paul says that everything is permisable but not beneficial. I think this is one of those situations. The woman I Love is not christian and its much harder for me to pull her up than it is for her to pull me down. Its a matter of what you value most. Sure its super romantic to want to put your Love first above all else but its also tragic and can cripple you from becoming the person you were meant to be if it means moving God into second place. Its tough because our hearts can be so decieving, but real love is a choice. Its committment on the highest level. So to answer the question, yes you can make it work, but it won't be easy. Keep in mind that God is sovereign and has your very best at heart. He has someone perfect for you that will be a partner in christian walk with you. You may think that this is the over the sun shoot the moon type of love that you've always wanted, but be careful. You might just be settling.
