Microsoft has replaced menus & toolbar with ribbon in some of the programs like Access, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook 2007. It is designed to perform desired tasks quickly. All the commands are collected under tabs.
I have only PowerPoint 2003 myself and I think the difference between 2007 and itself is that 2007 is updated. Yes. PowerPoint 2007 (and 2010) support loading presentations that were made in older PowerPoint version.
Yes. Since PowerPoint 2003 is older than PowerPoint 2007, 2007 can open an earlier version of PowerPoint. But Earlier version cannot open later versions like 2003 cannot open 2007 files.
