You can put up to a 2 inch pipe into a 4 inch. If you are putting 4 inch to 4 inch, either take out a section of the cast and put the PVC in or cut out a section and connect the PVC to the cast with rubber sleeves meant for this. You can use a saddle clamp for the 2 inch. It is a half round piece of PVC with a 2 inch connection in it. It is held on with two U bolts that go around the cast pipe. Put it where you need it and mark the 2 inch hole on the cast. Drill a series of 1/8 inch holes around this circle. when you get them all drilled, you can break out the plug. Try to keep it from falling into the cast pipe. Put the saddle clamp on and connect the PVC pipe as needed. Seal the saddle clamp to the cast pipe with plumbers putty.
The easiest way to remove burnt food from the bottom and sides of a non-stick pan is to let it soak in hot water with dish detergent. A fabric softener sheet can be tossed in to soften the food even quicker. Finally, scrub the pan with a non-abrasive scrubbing pad.
Iron with differrent carbon percentage in it would have different strength and ductile properties at different temperatures. As the percentage of carbon increases its ductility decreases and strenght increases and brittleness increases. This is put in a diagram that explains the condition of iron with different carbon percentage. This is iron carbon system.
Several things come out of blast furnaces. They are listed here: 1) A molten version of whatever material was put in it to begin with, 2) Incredible heat, 3) Powerfull light, 4) A waste gas and usually some slag remnant of the fuel that powers the furnace.
You should make sure that the pot has cooled. Otherwise the hot pot might not be safe to put in the fridge. Otherwise the Teflon pot will not harm your fridge. Mr. Know it all I think you are completely missing the gist of the question....they want to know if its safe to store food in the teflon pot...in other words they want to make sure the teflon, or metal from the pot will not leach into the food, as it WILL with aluminum pots
its the gasses in the gumbo i wouldn't recommend eating it cold, put it in the microwave.
Many of the newer enamel coated cast iron cookware manufacturers advertise their products as safe for use in the freezer, as well as the dishwasher. Traditionally, the answer would be no. In fact, many would cringe at the thought. My grandmother would tell you to keep your cast iron out of the freezer and the dishwasher or you'll ruin the integrity of your season coat (and I would agree.) However, the most unbiased answer is that you should check with the manufacturer of your cookware.

Thoughly wash the pots and pans with dishwashing detergent. Dry the pots over heat (such as: on stovetop burner). Apply a generous coating of vegetable shortning over the entire surface of the pot or pan and then bake the pot in a low oven for several hours in an oven set at less than 300 degrees. While in the baking process apply additional coats of shortning to the pot or pan. After the cast has absorbed the shortning, never leave the surface wet after washing. Always dry the cast with the use of stovetop or oven heat.
