well they both have different pattern of conducting exam aieee completely sticks on 12th and 11th standard course of cbse where as iit mostly based on mental capability of a candidateallthoug i will high rank or top rank to iit in difficult paper according to my personal experience

yes you have too while aieee requires rigorous learning of ncert.. iit jee demands much more from the candidate the topics are however less for the jee exams.... plan accordingly and choose your priority
