Yes, my horse is going to be 8 years old next spring and he has never had shoes. I ride on gravel roads, dirt roads. I have a certified barefoot trimmer trim his feet every 6 weeks to keep them in good shape.

Wild horses travel over all kinds of terrain and never have or need shoes.
