Humans obtain Vitamin D from the UVB rays of the sun, absorbing it in the skin.

Dogs absorb Vitamin D in their fur, which they subsequently lick to absorb the Vitamin D

Yes! They are just like humans and can get badly sunburned. if a dog is in the sun for a long period of time you should give them sunsreen (there are specially types) This is escpecially important for short haired dogs

I believe so. I have a boxer-pit bull that likes to lie in the sun and her skin went from pink to a very dark brown. I'm not too sure if it's normal or if it's the possible frostbite that she received before we got her.

its just like when humans get sunburnt. That's why you should put sunscreeen on a dog that frequently get burned. Such as a Chinese crested.
