yes, I believe that to still be in effect..................

Yes, definitely. My father, who served as a combat medic with the 25th infantry in WW2 (and received a combat medic badge) was awarded a bronze star just a few years ago (around 2007).

Answer Correct. Same as the POW Medal was created in 1980's or 1990's and it is retroactive to any WW2 Veteran who was a POW.
