The tools are different in type and are used for two different applications.

Put a zinc nail and copper wire in the fruit so they are not tuching. Hook up the wire and nail to a separate pair of alligator clips. hook up the other sides of the alligator clips to a Volt Meter and tada! =)
You can probably find alligator clips at your local hardware store. I would ask an employee to locate them for you. The price depends on the size of the clips and the amount you're buying. The variety at my local OSH ranged from about $2-$10 for a pack. You might also be able to find them at a specialty electronics store, but I'm not certain about this.

I've been looking for the same thing. They used to be popular in the 90's but no longer sold. I loved them. They were two alligator clips with a kind of bungie in between.
