Veral species of fish can breathe air and crawl on land. There are about 50 species of flying fish, too. The Japanese Mud-skippers do live out of water but need to be constantly be wet ... they raise there young eggs in tunnels built on the beach ... and constantly breath in air and pump it in there Young's chamber ...

All fish don't live in one place some fish live in lakes ponds rivers oceans and any other source of water.
The basic rule for keeping any kind of fish is "1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water." All fish tanks also need to have their water properly filtered to remove poisons created when a fish lives, breathes and poos in the water. No tank (pond?) is ever filled to the top so your nominal 2 gallon container is not big enough to keep any fish in without being cruel to the fish.

I don't believe there is any animal that can live without water...but some animals, for instance, the camel, can store water, or can last without water for a long period of time.
