Please identify that bird for me...

The bird's feathers .

There is not enough here to identify the bird. A gannet is a possibility.
There is almost no chance of a bird returning to your house. A dog might, if it likes the owner, but the dog can find its way back by scent. If a bird escapes, it is almost guaranteed never to be found (unless somebody finds it in the wild and recaptures it; you may want to get your bird banded or something to identify yourself as the owner). Try putting up a notice of the missing bird, and if anyone has seen it in the area.
Not without a picture.
Anyone who knows the subject well enough can identify them all.
There are far too many birds like this to identify this bird. You need to describe it in more detail - such as its size and bird type.
The anagram is "Bird of paradise."
