Can anyone prove they can defeat Gannon without a sword in the original ZELDA?

I've beat it once, and I think you need to use your sword to beat gannon, but as far as I can remember, you just need to shoot him with the silver arrow you find in the dungeon, bu that took me like a forever and a half to find. it's tough to hit him exactly, but once you have everything, you can beat him.
Correction NOthe original legend of Zelda you can beat everything in that game without picking up a sword until you get the Ganon's Lair then you need the swordWiki User
