Scientific information is generally determined using inductive reasoning. An example of this would be: You are fishing in a lake. You catch 50 fish and all of them are bass. You then conclude that all of the fish in the lake are bass.

If you haven't actually caught all the fish in the lake, then you can't know for sure that all of the fish are bass, but if you take a larger and larger sample size, then you can become more certain.

For this reason, many things in science can not be conclusively proven.
