Say white gets their pawn to the other side. They upgrade it to a queen. It is now black's turn. White can't move their new queen right after upgrading without black's turn going by.

Technique in sacrificing the pawn in chess?

Pawns are usually sacrificed to open lines for attacks by bishops, rooks and the queen. One tactic is the Queen's gambit. White moves its d pawn 2 squares. Black counters moving its d pawn 2 squares. White then moves its c pawn 2 squares putting it in immediate danger of being taken by Black's d pawn. If Black does take White's d pawn, Black's center position is weakened because it no longer has a pawn in the d file. White can then move its e pawn 2 squares and control the center of the bord. There is a similar gambit on the King side. White moves its e pawn 2 squares and Black moves its e pawn 2 squares. White then moves its f pawn 2 squares, putting that pawn in immediate danger of being captured by Black's e pawn. The King pawn gambit is trickier to play because Black's Queen can come right out into the fray and cause some trouble. The idea is that White gives up a pawn in order to get a better central position or mobilize its pieces faster. Plus many times the pawn that took Wite's pawn can later be captured and even up the loss in material. There are many other reasons to sacrifice a pawn or other piece, even a Queen. Look up Legal's mate to see this. Study your tactics.

Were do you place the queen after promoting from a pawn on the board?

The White Queen is placed upon the D1 white square whereas the Black Queen is placed at the D8 black square . The correct orientation, as per the chess rules, is with a black square on your left side as facing the chess board. One of the more common mistakes in setting up the chess board is reversing the king and queen chess pieces. Remember, as per the chess rules, the queen is always on her own color while the king is always on the opposite color . You can look to the link below for further information regarding the Queen in chess .

Where does the promoting piece begin?

Since the only piece that may be promoted is a pawn, a "promoting piece" begins on the second rank for White and on the seventh rank for Black. The numbering of the two ranks is done in accordance with standard algebraic chess notation. I think the person asking the question means that he/she want to know where the promoted piece is placed to begin its moving. If this is what the questioner meant by their question then the answer is this:As the original answer person stated, only a pawn can be promoted. For a White pawn to be promoted the White pawn must advance onto the last rank on the Black side which is numbered as rank #8. For a Black pawn to be promoted the Black pawn must advance onto the last rank on the White side which is numbered as rank #1.For which ever color pawn to get promoted, at the point where the pawn reaches the last rank of its opponent, the pawn to be promoted may promote to either a Queen, Rook, Bishop or Knight. The promoted piece is then placed on the same exact RANK AND FILE that the pawn reached on his opponents last rank to begin its move.

Chess if a pawn gets to the end of the chess board get you get a new queen if you already have one?

Queen is typically a noun, but it could possibly be used as a verb if you are referring to a game such as chess, where a pawn can become a queen... you could say "queen me" when your pawn reaches the appropriate position.
