I am the only one in this totally non-scientific study.
Diagnosed with pure hypercholesterolemia 10/16/09. Total cholesterol 294,HDL 82, Trig 101, LDL 192.
Put on pravastatin 20mg, changed to 40mg after 10 months. This brought cholesterol to 203, HDL 83, Trig 65, LDL 107. followed this dosage and rechecked blood work 8/16/11:Chol 210,Trig 94, HDL 75, LDL 116.
I have extremely dry skin, and have used one of the off-the-shelf hypoallergenic-sensitive skin lotions for years. Heard the reports of 48% chance of developing Diabetes if on a statin.
Stopped taking the statin, and tried no skin lotion(except for cracking hands) for 10 months.
6/04/12 blood work:Chol 227, trig 46, Hdl 59, LDL 159. Admittedly, the LDL value is still a bit high, but the Trig value is better than any other taken, and the Chol value is much closer to the target of 200 that most doctors like.
will taking benadryl affect fasting for cholesterol test
NO
No, coffee and Splenda will not affect cholesterol levels.
No, food that was eaten between 24 to 48 hours before the cholesterol test will affect it. The most damaging affect will come from prolonged dietary issues in which high cholesterol food is consumed.

I have the same question and wish that someone had answered this for you!
They are stored as triglycerides, phospholipids and sterols(cholesterol)Are you studying for Dr. Small's test?
Any food or drink other than water (including coffee, tea and soft drinks) consumed within 9 to 12 hours of a cholesterol test can affect blood cholesterol.
no -.-
No.
Because it has certain chemicals that aren't compatible with a cholesterol test.
Having a blood test will test your cholesterol level. Before getting your blood drawn make sure to have your cholesterol test done in the test tubes with the red top or speckled top. Both tubes test for cholesterol levels and is combined with other tests that test for lipids and triglycerides.
