As long as you know your dog isn't allergic to rice, that is. Be aware that rice has no real nutritional value to a dog, as they do not process carbohydrates like we do, so rice should only be used temporarily. First, have your dog fast for 12 hours or so from the first sign of diarrhea, to help ease their upset stomach. Then give them some plain rice. It is a very simple thing they can eat that should not upset their stomach, and should also help reverse the diarrhea. You can add plain, unseasoned, fully cooked and drained hamburger meat if they seem to consume the rice ok. Be sure the meat is fat free - any fat/grease will upset their stomach. Also make certain they have plenty of access to fresh, clean water - more importantly, be sure that they are drinking it. Keep an eye on their behavior - if they are acting relatively normal, there is not much need for concern. However if they refuse to eat, drink, play, etc., or if it has persisted without any improvement for more than 48-72 hours (the smaller the dog, the shorter the time frame), take your pet to the vet to ensure it is not something more serious causing the diarrhea. It is likely your pet may have eaten something they shouldn't have, or that they are sensitive to. It is also possible they have a food allergy. More serious possibilities include ingestion of chemicals or a virus of some kind. Please explore all possibilities, or problems may recur or get worse.
