Butterflies exhibit a variety of shapes and colors as a result of evolutionary adaptations for survival and reproduction. Their diverse coloration often serves as camouflage to evade predators or as warning signals to indicate toxicity. Additionally, specific shapes and patterns can play roles in attracting mates or aiding in thermoregulation. These variations enhance their ability to thrive in different environments and ecological niches.

I am not sure if a fish can recognize an individual, though many would say their fish knows them and probably have some wild stories to back up this personal opinion. However, I do believe a fish can learn to recognize shapes and movements. If you feed in a certain area of your tank after a while the fish will begin to meet you there.

There are 128 butterflies in total at the butterfly park. This is calculated based on the ratio of 8:4 for North American butterflies, which means for every 8 North American butterflies, there are 4 South American butterflies. Given there are 64 North American butterflies, the total number is doubled to include South American butterflies in a 1:2 ratio to European butterflies.
