If you live in a colder climate, Cannnas will not overwinter. The bulbs must be lifted before first frost, cleaned, and any foliage left must be removed.

The bulbs are then stored in a cool dark place( anywhere that does not get frost).

Place bulbs in straw, vermiculite, peat etc before storing, and then they should be fine in early Spring to re- plant.
