Absolutely! Clorox can clean any mold and mildew on any surface that cannot be harmed. Clorox can also rid a house of black mold, eventhough the EPA would rather make you pay for 10 guys in micro suits and respirators. Put Clorox in a spray yard jug and go to town. By the way, for this, a respirator and goggles are a good idea.
Great Answer !!
I am Chris of Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa, and just wanted to add this.
"Standard Clorox will not clean a roof very fast, if at all.

We see many customers attempt to clean a roof.
They usually wind up calling a professional non pressure roof cleaning company.
After they have risked their lives, and spent considerable money and time, in a futile effort to clean their roof with Clorox.
Now, IF you insist, Outdoor Clorox is much better to use.
You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes.
On VERY light, still green mildew, enough of it will work.
But once the Mildew turns black, and gets thick, you can easily use 100 gallons or more, and still not have a clean roof!"

Do you have a window ? If so leave it open in the dry weather and get a small fan and leave that on as often as possible - a fan that you can move around and direct at specific places would be good. The mildew is also very bad for your health - be careful.

There are no products that will prevent mildew on outdoor area rugs. The best solution is to keep the are dry using silica gel that you find in new shoes or pocketbooks. There is a very popular disinfectant on the market that solves this issue. The name of the disinfectant is Lysol. Lysol kills the AIDS virus in 30 seconds and also resolves the mold and mildew issue you are haivng with your outdoor rugs. I'd say spray it down once or twice per week, the bottom of the rug and the top of it, with one coat.
