The computer will power on, but it will not load windows. You will most likely get a black screen stating that the operating system disk can not be found. I would recommend unplugging the computer, plugging the power back into the hard drive and then re-plugging in the computer to get it to work properly.

Is hard disk an example for RAM?

No, it's not. RAM is a volatile type of memory. It needs to be refreshed constantly to preserve its contents. When you unplug your computer from power, anything that was in RAM will be deleted. Hard disks don't require power to keep your data safe.

What does it mean when your computer says hard drive not found?

The best way, I think to answer that is to define what a computer (or in this case the motherboard of the computer) needs to find or identify a hard disk. A hard disk needs a power source, a connector to attach it to the motherboard, and a controller to talk to the microprocessor of the computer. If any of these things fail the hard disk will not function and the computer will not recognize it. In general when you see the message "hard disk not found" its because the computer can't recognize the hard disk. This can be from a bad cable (that connects the hard disk to the motherboard), no power to the hard disk, or a failed controller. In my experience, its usually a bad cable but there are times when the hard disk itself will fail. Generally, hard disk cables are far more fragile than hard disks.

If someone unplug their computer without shutting down or logging off can the computer lose it's memory?

Yes. The data stored in the RAM will be immediately lost. Furthermore, data stored on the Hard Drive can also be corrupted and physical damage to the Hard Drive and PSU can occur. Never simply unplug any computerized devise.

Intall Your Deck Plans Software With A Power Source ?

Before you install your new deck plans software on your laptop computer, make sure that you have it plugged into a power source. You do not want the battery to die in the middle of the installation. This will cancel that installation, and it could cause problems with your computer because half of the files will be transferred to the hard drive and half of them will not yet have made their way there.

Does an external hard drive require constant power?

Commonly, external hard drives will acquire power from the computer it is connected to. It is possible, though, to connect external hard drives to an outlet and permanently to the computer, replacing the previous hard drive, though I highly do not recommend such.
