Yes, but they must be shipped to an FFL dealer.
No. Semiautomatic .22 rimfire rifles may be used for small game, but no semi rifles for deer. See link to Vermont hunting regs, and scroll down.
Depends on your state. Some states allow hunting with semi auto rifles, and some don't.
A caliber of rifles commonly used to hunt deer and elk.
Just about any company if they are paid enough
Any centerfire rifle suitable for huning deer may be considered a deer rifle. In this context, deer usually refers to either muledeer or whitetail deer. In the US, different states place different limits on the size and type of rifle that may be used to hunt deer. Because of their long range, rifles may be prohibited in densely populated areas, and deer hunting restricted to shotguns (or even bow and arrow in urban areas). Where rifles are permitted, calibers from 24 to 30 caliber (6 mm to 7.62 mm) are generally considered appropriate, although larger or smaller classes of rifles are commonly used, where permitted. Since the US military adopted the 5.56 mm (.223) round, that cartrodge has become very popular and often used on deer even though many experts consider it to be marginal.
The term "squirrel gun" was used with muzzle loading rifles that were smaller caliber than deer rifles. There was no one set caliber, but many were in .32 caliber, where a deer rifle would be .50, .54 or larger.
There are approximately 36 million deer in North America.

You will have to follow your states hunting regulations for mimimum caliber. Best is a relative term that only you can answer based on your skills.
Most of the Northern states have deer (including Alaska) because deer do not like to live where it is very hot. <><><> I have to disagree. I believe that all 50 states have deer- although they are different species of deer. Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi are ALL very hot states- with a good deer population.
