no that shouldn't make the check engine light to come on but that's not good on the fuel pump i would change the gas in the tank
Yes, especially in Volkswagen cars.
It could possibly
Many things can cause a car to be sluggish like dirty air filter, check engine light came on, bad transmission, bad engine, etc.
No. ] it most certainly can cause the check engine light to come on. Not per say as it being a bad starter but if the wire connections r dirty or the connection aint connected good. exspesally on a manual trans. I beg to disagree. I have never seen a bad starter set a check engine light. Not once.
Yes
usually to cause an engine to diesel when shut off, the spark plugs are dirty or burned out.also check the timing
check to see how dirty your air filter is. if is too dirty it could cause the problem it was the cause of mine.
check for vacuum leak or dirty fuel filter
No, it would not. There are many things that could cause a stall at idle. The throttle plate could be dirty as well as the mass air flow sensor. You did not mention the kind of car or engine size. Is the check engine light on, is it when the engine is warmed up or cold?
Dirty and stuck Idle Air Control Valve. Clean it and the throttle body. Also replace the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor
Yes, it is possible.
Yes , for many reasons. Bad/dirty electrical ground circuit will cause different sensor(s) to report incorrect information back to the computer & illuminate check engine lamp. An over or undercharging alternator will cause check engine lamp to illuminate. Easiest way to repair is to determine what computer code is stored in computer as a result of the lamp being on. Once the code has been determined , then the appropriate diagnostics can be started.
