Cats can be killed by many drugs even if they are intended for human use, seek veterinary guidance.
No NO NO!!!! GOD NO as far as I know animals should basicaly never take any medication that is intended for human consumption As good as it may make us feel ( lol) Cats and all animals bodies are very different from ours and I just simply wouldn't risk it. Its like the chocolate things its amazing to us and deadly to them! So I am not a vet but in my experience I would never ever give any aimal any medication without first speaking to a qualified vet its simply not worth taking the risk of hurting the kitty.
You can give your dog a small dose of anything you want but I don't recommend it without a veterinarian's approval. Hydrocodone is an opiate based pain medicine that can be harmful and even fatal for canines. The possible side effects in humans (constipation, dizziness, nausea, paralysis, and seizures) alone are dangerous enough - giving it to your dog could prove fatal. Stick to aspirin (small doses) and check with your vet.
I agree, also if you use aspirin, make sure it has a stomach coating added.
I would strongly recommend not - animal pharmaceuticals, while maintained at high levels of sterility and contamination control, are not under the same scrutiny as human pharmaceuticals. There are also more adjuvants and carrier compounds that can be used for animals but not humans.
Possibly more importantly, hydrocodone is a controlled substance - it can only be used by the patient it was prescribed for at the doseages prescribed. To get hydrocodone for your dog and then use it yourself would be illegal drug diversion and a felony.
yup they can... just put it in with their food and they will eat it all up...weather they should or shouldn't have it is a totally different question...
no, but i would make sure the pills doesn't contain any other active ingredients. try googling the pill imprint and see what you can find out.
No: Norco contains acetaminophen, which is toxic to dogs. Just a few tablets would be sufficient to cause irreversible liver damage or problems with red blood cells
No.
Do not give any meds prescribed for humans to dogs.
Give only meds prescribed by a Vet.
The dose makes the poison; too much will kill a dog, or any other animal. Of course, too much will kill a person, too.
no
i dont' see why you can't, i had knee surgery, shortly after knee surgery I formed a blood clot in my calf, The doctor prescribed me Lovenox, which is a shot I take in my stomach to help thin the blood and he also prescribed Warfarin, which is also a blood thinner, For the pain he prescribed oxycodone. Because he prescribed those drugs i assume it is safe to take with blood thinners
It's a type of medical care for puppies, and adualt dogs
Dogs can take Prevacid. My vet prescribed it for my Pomeranian when he was having a bout of gastroenteritis
You should never give dogs drugs that are not prescribed by a qualified vet.
ZERO!! You should never give a dog a narcotic pain killer unless prescribed by a vet and the strongest thing I've ever been prescribed for any of my dogs was tramadol when he was in the final stages of cancer. If you think your dog is in pain take him to the vet or give hin childrens aspirin, follow the dosing chart instructions for his weight.
no way
This would be OK. Just remember that oxycodone is a narcotic. This means it is a dangerous drug and you need to be careful and follow the doctor's directions exactly. Don't take extra and don't take it sooner than prescribed.
You don't... remember how much this can harm your body, take this prescription only as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take this unless you have a RX from your doctor and never take this if not RX to you.
Pills prescribed by a veterinarian. Dogs cannot take many of the medicines that people can take, See a vet.
No. They should not be taken together unless prescribed by your physician. There will be overlapping of opioid analgesics. Instead you can take the second drug.
No. Narcotics (oxycodone) benzodiazepines and barbiturates are sedating where as Advil cold will have hardly any effect. Do not mix so many sedative drugs unless prescribed by your physician to do so
