It does not explode. But it does evolve CO2 gas, since that is what it is made of. If you put it into a sealed container, the gas will icrease the pressure as it warms and Ka-Powie.

∙ 13y agoDry ice is actually solid carbon dioxide. I believe you know that oxygen is needed in combustion while, carbon dioxide doesn't not support combustion. Hence, dry ice can be used to extinguish fire. As simple as that.
