Well this would depend on the type of grass and how long the horse would be out for. If the horse would be out all day then a grazing muzzle attached to a breakaway halter would be a good option. If the grazing is sparse or poor it might not be a problem, especially if the horse won't be out long. Many people set up a dry lot for horses prone to Laminitis/Founder, or allow them to run lose in a riding ring or round pen for turnout.

What do you feed to a field kept pony?

Horses and ponies kept in a good pasture usually don't need extra feed, so long as the pasture is nutritionally balanced. Watching the pony's body condition and weight will help you determine if he needs an extra supplement of hay or grain. If he appears underweight, first take care to give him a wormer and a check to be sure he is otherwise healthy before feeding him supplements. Ponies and supplements like grain often don't do very well together. Ponies are usually very easy keepers and giving grain can cause him to founder. Ponies were bred to survive on very, very little, so overfeeding is a dangerous problem for them.

What are the small sheds in a horse pasture?

The small sheds in a horse pasture, often referred to as run-in sheds or shelters, provide a protected area for horses to escape harsh weather conditions such as rain, wind, or extreme sun. These structures allow horses to rest and seek refuge while still having access to the pasture for grazing and movement. They are typically open on one or more sides, allowing for easy entry and exit, and are designed to ensure the safety and comfort of the animals.
