yes but the downfall that i founf is that the betta will make the other fish get ick and get a green film on them which is hard to get rid of. a betta is fine all by its self in a coffee cup with water (or something small)
Male bettas should be kept alone. Female bettas can sometimes be kept with other fish, but in a large community tank. Bettas need their space!
Bettas should be kept at around 75F to 78F.
NO
Bettas eat any other fish placed with them that they can, including other bettas if they are not mating with them.
Male Bettas can not be kept with any other members of the Betta family. They can be kept with other species quite safely but will not tollerate another Betta (male or female) in their vicinity. Female Bettas can be kept together OK.
Follow the 1 inch per gallon rule, for every ince the fish is long, that is how many gallons the fish needs to live in. If you wish to get a neon tetra (2 inches) you could have 1, but a tetra is a schooling fish and needs to be kept in groups of 5 to 6. You may want to consider a betta fish, you could have 3 females in the tank or 1 male. (bettas and goldfish are an exception to the 1 inch rule bettas need 1 gallon, goldfish need 10 gallons)
The rule to follow for freshwater fish is 1 inch per gallon. For goldfish is it one fish per 10 gallons, and for bettas it is 1 fish per 1 gallon. Fish bowls really are not the best home for any fish. Fish need to be kept in tanks with heaters and fliters.
Bettas are generally kept in their own private tank, since they can be quite vicious to other fish.
No, you need a 10 gallon aquarium. Bettas should not be kept in bowls at all. 2.5 gallons is the minimum.
Male and female betta fish should not be kept in a tank together unless the tank is large enough for a female to escape attack, there is a partition or they are breeding. Males will kill the females. They are very aggressive and are not schooling fish.
Goldfish commonly grow to over 12 inches. The size of your tank would indicate that it is not really large enough for keeping goldfish in. The basic rule of fishkeeping is "1 Inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water. Goldfish should really be kept in a pond.
Gold fish require water below 70F and Bettas require water above 75F so they should not be kept together.
