Yes she can still have puppies at five years of age. Have her vet checked to make sure she is in the best of health beforehand.
In general, the smaller the dog, the longer it lives, as long as it is healthy. For small poodles, this means they may live to be 12+ years old.
Poodles can often live to be 16 to 18 years old and a few make it to 20. The smaller poodles live the longest. They are a sturdy and highly intelligent dog and one breed that has fewer diseases or other physical problems. Usually the average life span of a poodle ranges from around 13-14 years.
There are three basic types of poodles. Standard Poodles height - 15-21 inches length - approximately 20-30 inches weight - 45-65 pounds life span - 10-13 years Miniature Poodles height - 10-15 inches length - approximately 15-20 inches weight - 12-18 pounds life span - 13-15 years Toy Poodles height - less than 10 inches length - approximately 15 inches weight - 4-8 pounds life span - 12 - 14 years
My mams mini Schnauzer outlived her. Hes with my brother now and turned 18 yesterday. We are able to verify this
They live for 12-13 years.
It is quite possible that a female pit-bull could have puppies from as early as 6 months old, however this is not a good idea and you should ideally wait until around 2 years of age. If you are not wanting to breed, you should get the female dog spayed as soon as the vets are happy to do it.
It is truly not best to breed a female until at least the age of 2- or 3-years, and is of a responsible, healthy background.
The age will vari between the sizes. Toy poodle males usually become fertile between 6-9 months of age. But usually not sexually active until between 9 months and 12 months of age. Miniature poodle males become fertile between 6-9 months of age. Rarely are they fertile at 5 months but it can happen. They are usually sexually active at 6 months. The same rules apply for Standard Poodles as for the Miniature poodles
No. A female dog must be 3-4 years old. If a six month old does produce puppies, that's one amazing puppy... But it's not possible. Hope this helped!
Since poodles are so skinny they have very weak bones so they can be easilly broken by jumping off of something. I have a 1 and a half year old miniature poodle and when he was six months old he had some kind of heart problem. I found out that poodles can carry desieases without even getting sick and then spread it their puppies. What happened is, a valve going to his heart had a hole in it and the blood was falling out of the valve. This may not happen to your poodle but before you breed your two poodles, get them both checked really well so that this doesn't happen to your dog. (P.S. My pupy survived. we took him to U.C. DAVIS and he had surgery. Now he is a healthy, energentic poodle. I recemend U.C. DAVIS if your dog ever gets really sick!) Hope this helped! One Answer:Regarding "toy" poodles - as they age, they commonly develop cataracts. These can eventually blind them, sometimes long before they near their life expectancy (which is pretty long at 12-15 years), but if they're "inside" dogs they'll adjust.
A puppy can be 1 year and 6 months old to have puppies (female), and to leave another dog pregnant 9 months (male). You might wait longer, if you are not interested in breeding them as young as possible. A female can have puppies until she is 8 years old and a male until he dies.
The life expectancy of a Miniature Schnauzer is 12 - 14 years.
