Gerbils are mostly herbivores, and only eat bugs when the opportunity presents itself. Bugs that they can eat are mealworms and crickets; however, do not give them the beetles or pupae that grow from mealworms, or other bugs to be safe. Also, since gerbils only get bugs occasionally, only feed them an insect two or three times a week at most.

Yes, gerbils can eat bloodworms but not too much bloodworms too much blood worms can kill gerbils.
