The replacement of a silver-Mercury amalgam or filling has absolutely nothing to do with having the shingles.
Shingles is an outbreak, usually in later life, caused by the chicken pox virus. Only those who have had chicken pox can break out in shingles.

But remember that: -it'll cost as much, and be as uncomfortable as having the filling put in the first time - the heat and flakes released in the process will actually increase the amount of mercury that's in your blood stream for quite a while after the procedure, if it's mercury you're worried about.
