It usually lives just on your head.
Head lice cannot survive long without a human host, as they rely on blood for nourishment. They typically live on the scalp and hair, making an empty bed unsuitable for their survival. While they may occasionally fall off a host and end up in bedding, they will likely die within 1-2 days without access to a person. Therefore, it's unlikely for head lice to live in an empty bed for an extended period.
There is no need to wash clothing, or bedding, if they have come into contact with head lice. This is because head lice quickly die without a host to provide warmth and food.
Washing bed linens in hot soapy water following an outbreak of head lice is very important because of the fact that lice can live outside of hair for several days and eggs can remain viable for up to a month. These lice and eggs need to be killed in order to prevent a reinfestation. Hot soapy water is effective at killing them.
You can stay near them but don't put your head near them and maybe warn them that you have them and this is until all head lice are gone.
Off of a human's head lice cannot not live past 24-48 hours. Therefore, when they have fallen off onto your pillows, blankets, sheets, stuffed animals, etc. they may still be there (alive) after you have treated your hair. So to prevent getting head lice back into your hair, it is best to wash your bedding and dry them thoroughly. Lice and nits will die in temperatures higher than 138 degrees.
an adult louse can live off the head for up to 2 days but a nymph can for only a few hours.. if you wanna shorten tht it wud b good idea to lower humidity by turning an ac on in the room.. this will shorten its life and or kill it quick because they survive much better in humidity.. just wash the bed sheets and everything first though
Bed bugs are small insects that feed on blood and typically live in bedding and furniture, while lice are tiny parasites that live on the scalp and feed on blood. Bed bugs can cause itchy bites and infestations in homes, while lice are mainly found on the human body and can spread easily through close contact.

Yes, bed bugs can be mistaken for body lice, but they are distinct pests. Bed bugs are larger, typically reddish-brown, and have a flat, oval shape, while body lice are smaller, grayish-white, and more elongated. Additionally, bed bugs primarily feed on blood at night while hiding in mattresses or furniture, whereas body lice live on clothing and feed on the body. Proper identification is essential for effective treatment and control.
