we had the same problem with our 2003 trailblazer we bought the new switch but had to bring it to a Chevy dealer to have it programmed.hope this info helps if i recal correctly the switch was around 150.00 plus what the dealer charged. I had the same thing happen in my 2004 trailblazer. But mine was the result of shorted out wires from where all of the wires, 8 of them, are clipped to the door with a metal clip. Over time the metal clip rubbed off the wire insulation and melted about 5 inches of 8 wires into nothingness. I am so fortunate it stopped at just melting! $400 dollars later it is fixed.
