Regardless of whether you have a cardiac condition or a weight condition, you may have heard the doctor mention bypass surgery. You are now home and you are wondering, what is a bypass surgery? The answer is simple. In the case of gastric bypass the surgeon wants to bypass your old, stretched out stomach and create a new, smaller stomach. Cardiac bypass is done not to get rid of the old heart but to go around one of the arteries that supplies blood to the heart and use a new artery. The surgery involves disconnecting and reconnecting different parts but once the surgery is done you will have a new and improved you.
Arterial coronary artery bypass surgery is what is done to cure clogged arteries to the heart.
It is called cardiac bypass surgery which is done to bypass blocked arteries in the heart and thus improving the blood flow to the heart
Yes it can be done
I think the surgery that is done to unclog arteries is the bypass surgery.
The cost of a bypass surgery depends on the location the surgery is performed, I imagine bypass surgery on the heart would be pretty costly. To find out the cost of a bypass surgery you can ask your doctor or go to a local hospital and talk to some professionals on that subject.
It depends on the bypass. If you are talking about a cardiac bypass, then it should be done as soon as possible if necessary. A cardiac bypass is necessary if an artery supplying blood to the heart muscle is blocked. If you are talking about gastric bypass, I believe that is solely a recommendation/optional surgery to assist in a weight-loss plan. So, in short, it depends on the bypass in question.
To see some photos of how gastric bypass surgery is done go to http://www.medicinenet.com/gastric_bypass_surgery/article.htm. It shows a little model of the bypass.
He had a bypass operation on September 6, 2004. On March 10,2005 they removed scar tissue from this surgery. On Feb. 11, 2010 he had a procedure done to repair a blocked artery.
Heart bypass surgery, also known as coronary artery bypass surgery, aims to replace damaged arteries in the heart. A surgeon uses blood vessels from another area of the body to repair the damaged arteries. This surgery is used when the coronary arteries become blocked or damaged. The coronary arteries supply the heart's muscles with oxygenated blood. If they are blocked or the flow of blood is restricted, the heart can't function properly. This can lead to heart failure
Minimally invasive heart bypass surgery is done without stopping the heart and putting the patient on a heart-lung machine. A 3 to 5 inch incision is made in the left part of the chest between the ribs. This incision is much less traumatic than the traditional heart bypass surgery incision which separates the breast bone. Minimally invasive heart bypass surgery allows the patient less pain and a faster recovery.Reviewed ByReview Date: 03/21/2009David C. Gastric Bypass srugery is only done with a doctors consent. Even just being obese is not enough to have the surgery done. A person has to be dangerously obese in order to have the operation done. If you have weight concerns, talk with your doctor.
