no it can only pinch you
yes but if u do make sure the other crabs don't eat it!
I usually shred them in a blender but you can also chop them, grate them or just leave them full! Hermit's pinch little shreds off with they're claws so just about any size is fine
it doesn't makes the baby then they leave and the baby raise its shelf
I can't say there's a lot to do with hermit crabs. If you play with them a lot, you can stress them out. But when you weekly bathe your hermit crabs, you can leave them out a little longer to play. By using safe and easy building supplies (like paper towel tubes) you can build an obstacle course for your crabs. You can also enter your hermit cabs in yearly competitions (most of them are in Georgia)
Well if you have a friend who lives close and has hermit crabs then when you are hanging out at each others houses you could bring your hermit crab with you and put it in their tank. (You need a little moving tank. The very small ones with a little handle on the top.) But when you leave you need to bring your hermit crab with you. ~EEE2
Hermit crabs can. It happens when the hermit crab is changing its shell and falls over or when the hermit crab is dead it slides out or falls out of its shell! Sadly they can't always get back in there shells and die.
You can tell a land hermit crab from a water hermit crab by looking at the claws/arms or legs. If it is a water crab it will be blueish and if land crab it will be pinkish purpleish. If your crab is a water crab don't just throw it in water and leave it there, put a tiny bowl in it's tank or cage that is low to the ground and make sure that the water level is a bit lower than the hermit crabs top of its legs. Also have a wet sponge for each kind of hermit crab in the crabs tank.
I don't think that hermit crabs can feel many emotions but if you feel that your hermit crab is in a grumpy mood just leave it alone and make sure it has all its essentials (water, food, ect.)
Yes, hermit crabs can do this because they burrow. In doing this they make air holes to keep a supply of air going to them at all times. This is why it is so important to never bury your hermit crab! In doing this you will not leave an air pocket and have a high risk factor of choking them.
a good amount but if he/she did not eat all of it last night you could leave it but it matters how many hermit crabs you have but do a good amount!
It depends upon the size of the hermit crab. You can fit 5-7 small crabs in a 10 gallon tank but only 1 or 2 large crabs. The more room you leave for your crabs the happier and healthier they will be. be careful not to overcrowd your tank, cos the hermits can get stressed, and may leave their shell or crawl into a corner and sulk :) But probably two or three would be enough room
well that's a very great question, and i will do my best to ansewer it. hermit crabs start to live out in the wild, at a beach is the best known place for a hermit crab to live.people take them to the pet stores for people to by them as pets.if you get a hermit crab its best to leave it by its self for a week or two, you've never known what its been through from the ocean to the pet store
