Yes.
Momentum = mass x velocity A bullet has a high momentum because its velocity is really high.
serial number to high for 1911A1
Depends on the .22 cartridge, what it is fired from, and the angle of the barrel when fired. A .22 LR high velocity cartridge, fired from a rifle at about a 40 degree elevation can shoot about 1.5 miles- but there is no accuracy at that distance.
Fired ammunition from a firearm reaches a much higher initial velocity due to explosive propellant forces. In contrast, ammunition dropped from a high altitude reaches a terminal velocity where gravity pulling down is balanced by air resistance pushing up. The fired bullet maintains its higher velocity until slowed by air resistance and gravity, while dropped ammunition reaches a constant speed due to these opposing forces.
When a gun is fired a bullet (or cartridge) with a small mass but a very high velocity is ejected. The recoil of the gun is a reaction to this force and is sufficient to push back the person who fired the weapon.
$100-$500, depending on condition. These guns should NOT be fired with modern high velocity ammo.
That would depend on the mass of the bullet, the bullet's velocity when it left the barrel of the gun, and from how high up the bullet was fired from.
I'm sure it is strong enough to handle the extra pressures but my question is why would you want to take an extremely well made & accurate revolver and hammer it with high pressure loads?? One well placed low velocity .38 wadcutter shot with an accurate revolver like the Colt Match is much better than several high pressure high velocity rounds randomly placed on target.
High Velocity Bowling happened in 2007.
Depends on WHICH .22 bullet, what it was fired from, what kind of wood, and at what distance. .22 CB caps, fired from a pistol, at 20 ft, will bounce OFF a pine 2x4. A high velocity 40 gr .22 LR, fired from a rifle, will penetrate about 1 inch in the same 2x4.
Velocity means speed. So high velocity is high speed and low velocity is low speed. Example: High velocity 204 Ruger 32 grains 4000 fps 1200 ft. lbs. Low velocity 577 Nitro Express 750 grains 2050 fps 7000 ft. lbs.
