Yes! You could die because of their bite.
There are many types of camel spiders. Their bite is generally considered to be non-venomous. Even so, they can give a nasty bite, especially when they feel threatened. And their bite is not a 'clean' bite, but it makes a nasty tear in the skin. What is more, camel spiders don't brush their teeth... so expect the wound to become badly infected by bacteria! In a worse case scenario, someone who has been bitten by a camel spider may face a life-threatening situation and have to be hospitalised for several months! (See Related links below)
No they aren't. Cave spiders and camel spiders belong to different taxonomical orders.
A camel spider, which is also in the class Arachnida with spiders interestingly enough, is not a spider at all. A camel spider is actually a solpugid, and there are about 900 species of them known to date. Around 50 species of camel spiders are found in southwest US and about 240 in southern Africa. The reason behind the name 'camel spiders' is simply because they are found in the desert. A Camel spider is also known as wind scorpion, sun spider, and wind spider.
