Dungeons and Dragons is several different games. The first, original game is a "tabletop role-playing game", played with pencils, paper, many oddly-shaped dice, and preferably a group of good friends (and some tasty snacks!).
There are also computer games, "miniatures" games (played with small, carefully-painted little figurines), card games, board games, dice games, and many more.
I would have to say no. Since it's A) a role-playing game and B) a game where one person, the DM or GM know the "story" and the players have to try to figure it out based on information provided by the DM, it would be pointless to play, alone (in reference to the typical table-top version).
No need to be discouraged though, there are games out there like D&D Role playing. You can find "Text adventures" online, which come in many different genres. Then there are the "choose your own adventures" you can find at the library or bookstore, but I heard they no longer write them.
Online are downloadable or made for purchase books for solo adventure.
Tunnels and Trolls produced by Flying Buffalo has; Gamesmen of Kasar, Naked Doom, and Sewers of Oblivion.
You could try Dwarfstar Games, they have a bunch.
Traveller's Merchant system
Mongoose has republished the "Lone Wolf Series" that was popular in the 80's.
Doctor Who has a solitaire story game to name a few.
Mind you these games are very challenging. And if you don't have help from others like you would by playing in a group setting the adventure might discourage you. Personally it's hard to find players and I like to get my "fix" of role playing because of the adrenaline rush. I thought I'd get my kid to help me get through the solo adventures, but he gives up too easily when the going gets hard. Happy travels.
The standard games are played on a physical board. With technology, you have the privilege to play checkers online or offline. There are many applications for PC or mobile to play checkers offline.
No...Dungeon Hunter is more closely related to Diablo. Dungeon & Dragons is either online via a PC or normally played without the technology using dice & roleplaying with your friends

No, you do not. Once you launch the Minecraft launcher, you simply click on log in, it will tell you it couldn't connect and asks you to either try again or play offline. Note that playing offline means you don't get to use your custom skin, if you have one.
