Can a 265-70r x17 tire work on a 2004 toyota thundra 4x4
Toyota had two size tires for that vehicle depending on what date of mfr was. 225/75-15 or 265/70-16. What is on it now?
265/75/16
Yes you can, as long as you replace all four tires. Having different sizes tires on the vehicle will ruin the diff as the car believes it is constantly cornering, thus wearing either side at a different rate.
The correct size is listed on the driver's door post. On a standard Tacoma 2wd the correct size is 195/75-14 and 205/70-14 is optional. If you have a Tacoma PreRunner then the size listed on the door post is wrong. The correct size is 265/75-15. This size is also correct for a 4wd.
