Assuming the SIM card is the correct size for the iPhone (ie not a micro SIM) - there's no reason why not. Since you say it's unlocked - it should accept any networks SIM card.
If your 3GS is locked, you can't insert a SIM card.

ya. u gotta have a contract with yo provider. to unlock: all you do is buy a turbosim card off of eBay for 10-15 dollars. you just place the turbosim on your own sim card, put it in your fone, and it will be unlocked to work on any network. I don't know where else you can buy it. look online.
