Hi, I work on a cruise ship and possess a C1D visa. I've been going to the U.S. For about 10years now mainly joining for work purposes but this time I'll be going on a vacation to Mexico City so I have a stop in one of the U.S. Airports for transit. So just had a doubt about my C1D visa is that enough or I need a different visa. Sent from my iPhone
You are not allowed to file an adjustment of status (I-485) on a C1d visa. The best way to avoid deportation is to follow US Immigration Law. You are not allowed to file an adjustment of status (I-485) on a C1d visa. The best way to avoid deportation is to follow US Immigration Law.

The C-1D visa is a non-immigrant visa class specifically for the use of ship or airline crew who are non US passport holders or permanent residents and allows them entry to and exit from the United States. The C-1D visa is for crew members who intend to arrive in and exit from the United States with the same airline or on the same vessel.http://www.visabureau.com/america/c-1d-crewmember-visa.aspx

Technically, you can return to your country after overstaying your visa then return to the US. However, you must not that if you have been illegally present in the US for a long time, you will be barred from returning to the US for 3 or 10 years.
No, You can apply for the Green card but you will still be punished with 3 to 10 years back in your country of origin.I used to work for Carnival Cruise Lines and came here to the US with a C1 visa, got married to my husband 4 years ago, have 2 children and still I can't get my Green Card. All my lawyers advised me not to file for a Green Card and wait for an anmesty because I will be deported anyways.Good luck to you.
It wont matter if your spouse came with you to reapply you back, theyll say no. Best thing to do is after 5 years of being out of the country, go to an American embassy and petition the government to let you back in. I know this because my husband overstayed his crewman visa for 5 years and now my husband is back in his country. By the year 2014, we will put in a petition. 5 years will pass by the time we apply. I do however visit my husband once a year. We also have a child, but due to the currency difference, also language, I stay in the U.S.. Wish you the best of luck.
Through a lengthy process - yes. But what is really troubling about your whole question is the fact you seem to quick to use (misuse) the institute of marriage to fulfill your selfish wants. I wonder what "real marriage" divorce rates would look like if we removed everyone like you from the picture? I bet marriage would have more respect! Why don;t you earn respect for yourself by earning your pathway to citizenship the legal and ethical way that millions before you have accomplished? I think you'd feel much better about yourself, and just think, then you could actually "marry" someone because you loved them!
