Koalas do have teeth and claws, and will fight when there's no other option.

It's quite rare though, and mostly only male koalas fight other male koalas over breeding rights.

Not many predators can get to them up in the trees, not many other plant eaters have any interest in the eucalyptus leaves that make up their main diet.
