No. Koalas do not have long fingers. Their fingers are long enough and flexible enough to grasp hold of eucalyptus leaves, but they are not long.
No. People do not keep pet koalas. This is prohibited, as they are a protected species. Some fauna sanctuaries keep koalas, and some people hold licences to care for injured wildlife (such as koalas) until they are ready to be released back into their natural environment.
Koalas cannot be held in the wild, but many Australian zoos and sanctuaries have a section where koalas may be held or touched. Lone Pine in the suburb of Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane, has koalas which are used to human contact, So does Australia Zoo, near Beerwah in Queensland.

People like koalas for any of a number of reasons:Koalas vaguely resemble teddy bears, which is why they are often wrongly called 'koala bears'.In some animal sanctuaries, people are able to hold koalas. This means they have the opportunity to pet the koalas' soft, woolly fur, and appreciate the docility and gentleness of these creatures (under the right circumstances, as they can be aggressive).Koalas are uniquely Australian, and regarded as a national icon.

Of course koalas have legs. Koalas have four legs, all equipped with very sharp claws. Without legs, they would be unable to walk, climb trees or feed, since they use their front paws to grasp hold of eucalyptus leaves.
