There is a risk of choking if you try and eat the harder parts.
However, cartilage and softer ends of chicken bones themselves are chewable/edible. I liked to eat them since I was a kid. It would be interesting if someone knows their digestibility or nutritional value and if they are a source of calcium and other nutrients.
If this sounds strange to you, consider that traditional cultures consume much more of the animal carcass (especially organ meats) than the typical modern diet, resulting in a higher intake of important fat soluble vitamins - which in turn promote absorption of essential minerals like calcium. This is one of the factors implicated in the excellent dental health in many traditional cultures. For example, early observers noted that dental cavities were very rare in Australian Aboriginal children living on traditional diets, and compaction almost unknown. But the dietary components mentioned were kidney fat from possums, and moth abdomens. It probably wasn't documented whether they ate the cartilage/bone-ends of bird species in their diets!!
If your dog eats a chicken bone and swallows it as quick as you can take the dog to the vet because the chicken bone will slice the dogs stomach and the dog could die.
They can, but most people won't let them.
No ... Do not feed any animal chicken bones. These bones are sharp and will cause harm if they get stuck in the throat or windpipe ... This is inhumane and cruel.
Cooked chicken bones become brittle and should not be fed to dogs or cats. Chances are nothing will happen but the cooked bones can splinter and get caught in the pets throat or digestive tract. Cats and dogs like your Pug do fine eating raw birds as the bones are not as sharp and do not splinter. Keep in mind that feline and canine diet in the wild is often avian/rodent heavy.
Yes, dog bones are they are GREAT for teething dogs they help your dogs gums! exept trkey, chicken, or any bird type bones they will splinter in your dog's throat and stomach and cause internal bleeding and death
Dog food and bones not chicken bones.
Meat is very good for dogs as they are carnivores. They can eat all the meats that are out there in the world. Beef, pork, chicken, turkey, rabbit ect...
No! No dogs should eat chicken bone. They do not break the way beef bones break, and splintered chicken bone can be as deadly for dogs as they sometimes are for people.
All Dogs eat raw meat or bones, but not fish or chicken.

Yes. But if you cook them and then give it to your dogs then they could get splinters in their throat's.
Bones and raw or cooked meat, such as chicken or beef. Just like most normal dogs :)

No Not Cooked Chicken Bones!!!!
Raw chicken can make them sick, cook it first. Just remember not to give them chicken bones to chew on because the bones splinter in their throats and can cause internal bleeding. Cartilage is fine.

Dogs should not eat small bones.
No, they should only eat bones made for dogs in the treat deparment for dogs.
This is true. Bird bones are hollow and so can splinter easily, creating a risk of internal injury.
